Our own library
The Library fans of Forskningsavdelningen (Gunde, Olle), are up to fixing with the library holdings.
The Prelinger Library is the inspiration for me (Olle): "An appropriation-friendly, image-rich, experimental research library. Independent and open to the public."
I read about them in Make Magazine, and got inspired. Allowed me to keep awesome books, but not in my home.

Have ordered a barcode scanner from LibraryThing.
Have installed a Scriblio OPAC (web frontend for searching a catalog) at http://ollehost.dk/forsklib/ It has NO content yet, which might trip it up a little.

Life with too much JavaScript is tough on old computers. Scriblio's very Web 2.0.
Debian computer runs. We're at the point where we can test-run different systems.
Soon, Marie - a profressional librarian - will join our group, and she'll know the interesting systems.

http://zebra.sf.net is a barcode reader, too. For Linux, and free.

Det där med bibliotekssystem beror lite på vad man tänkt göra. Alltså om man bara vill ha ett system för att presentera vad man har i en databas eller flera. Om man tänker sig i första hand publicera saker som finns digitalt t ex pdf:er eller om man tänkt sig att digitalisera saker själv och göra tillgängliga. Om man har fysiska prylar som typ böcker som skall förvärvas, katalogiseras, hittas och lånas ut.
Jag såg att du kikat på scriblio. Det är inget dumt alternativ för du får integrationen med wordpress.
Jag listar lite olika system så får du se om det är något som faller dig på läppen förutom det som du redan har.
Publiceringssystem: - Dspace (www.dpace.org) Malmö högskola kör detta för sina studentuppsatser. - Eprints (www.eprints.org) SLU kör det för sina studentuppsatser. - Fedora (www.fedora.info)
Digitalisering: - Kete (kete.net.nz/) kollaborativ digitalisering, låter ungefär som det ni vill göra. - Greenstone (www.greenstone.org)
OPAC/Söksystem - Scriblio har du ju redan hittat - VuFind kanske är ett alternativ men kanske lite over the top (www.vufind.org/) - SOPAC är typ som Scriblio men integration med Drupal istället (http://thesocialopac.net/)
Kompletta bibliotekssystem (men med fokus på att hantera tryckt material och lån osv.) - Koha (www.koha.org/ ) - Evergreen (open-ils.org/)
Själva så kör vi ett licensierat system som heter Aleph. Det är dyrt och inte mycket bättre än t ex Koha.
Säg gärna till när det finns något att titta på jag är mycket nyfiken på vad ni hittar på. Det är roligt med någon som faktiskt gör något med open source programvara inom biblioteksvärlden.
