The optoshield was designed by Linda and Kugg to work as a intermediate interface between arduino and phone module. It consists of 12 optocouplers one for each digital output on the arduino board.

The optoshield is a general purpose shield and may be used for relaying 12 different circuits.

Kugg and Kepyla is working on a PhoneSHIELD for arduino that can generate the dtmf tones in cpu and convert the power from phone line to run the arduino. GIT project page
